Susan's House Eilat is a non-profit vocational center that provides a supportive, wage-earning workspace for at-risk youth ages 15-19 through creating arts and crafts. The organization is supported by the Israeli Ministry of Welfare and Social Affairs and the Municipality of Eilat.
At Susan's House Eilat, youth receive a supportive environment for employment and obtain emotional and therapeutic care through art and creativity. They also gain professional training and become full partners in developing, designing, producing, marketing, and selling products. This process, led by a dedicated professional team, strengthens their self-esteem, enhances teamwork skills, and helps them meet their goals while developing economic and social competencies. All these efforts contribute to reinforcing community values and interpersonal relationships.
Susan's House was founded in 2002 in memory of the late Susan Kaplanski (of blessed memory). Her vision was to rehabilitate and support at-risk youth through art. Her husband, Eyal Kaplanski (of blessed memory), fulfilled her vision by establishing the Yuval Susan Foundation.
The House operates three locations in Israel: Jerusalem, Beit Shemesh, and Eilat. Dozens of teenagers participate annually in all three locations.
Our vision is to advance at-risk youth through employment, helping them take responsibility for their futures, equipping them with professional and life skills, and supporting them in growing into contributing members of society.
We strive to create a creative, supportive, and joyful environment that inspires and delights everyone who enters — the youth, the professional staff, and visitors. We want them to feel at home and feel free to express themselves.
